Personal Alignment Workshop Series

What is alignment? How can you find it? In this cutting-edge workshop series previously offered only to Fortune 500 senior executives and now open to the public, leadership guru and GLI President Dr. Anthony Silard shows you how to bring your life to purpose by transforming your lofty dreams into concrete, deadline-driven goals and then choosing actions on a moment-to-moment basis that are congruent with your deepest values. The Personal Alignment workshop series will help you to achieve Vision-Alignment, meaning:

  • 1 The Visionary within you can paint a clear picture of your life goals and what you want your most important relationships to look like.
  • 2 The “Actionary” within you knows how to commit actions that transform (and avoid actions that do not transform) this picture into your present reality.

Life is a series of choices. Every day, every hour, every moment you make choices—from coming home and choosing whether to turn on the television or read a book to choosing which jobs to apply for to deciding whom to date or marry. Whatever your situation, this workshop series will help you check in with yourself, uncover your deepest values and priorities, and integrate them into the way you are living your life now.

We are living in a new era where competition for jobs comes from every corner of the globe. Whether you have been laid off or are no longer motivated in a dead-end job and fear the consequences of making a transition, here’s the question each of us now has to answer: What do you offer to the world that uniquely emanates from your heart? Just about anything else you can do with your productive time can be easily reproduced by someone who charges much less.

The two key steps to success are still the same:

  • 1 Figure out what you love to do.
  • 2 Find someone to pay you to do it.

In this workshop series, you will learn that to not only survive, but to thrive in this economy, you must corner a specific niche of knowledge that has a high barrier to entry (i.e. that no one else has or can easily obtain) and utilize this knowledge to serve a strong customer or client need. Yet regurgitating knowledge alone doesn’t work; it must emanate from your heart and tap the reserve of passion that may be laying dormant within you.

We all struggle to find not just a job or a career, but a calling. Even those of us who have found our passion in life often feel, like the rest of us, overworked and stressed-out from the unprecedented demands on our time. In this workshop series, you will learn work-life balance strategies that protect and expand your energy and motivation in an age where it is much more difficult to control your phone and other digital devices than the other way around.

You will consider the question: When you are nearing the last days of your life, do you want to look back and see a career, or do you want to see a life?

To determine if this is the right workshop for you, consider whether each of the following statements is True or False as it applies to where you currently are in your life:

I’m not sure what I want to do with my life.

I feel stressed out often.

I am a giver, and have trouble receiving from others.

I wish I controlled my email, but feel it’s usually the other way around.

I know how to take care of others, but not of myself.

I keep thinking, “One day, it won’t be such a struggle.” That day never seems to come.

I always seem to get into the wrong relationships.

I spend too much time and energy trying to please others.

I don’t spend enough time doing what’s truly important to me.

I come home completely exhausted and want my partner (or family members) to understand it’s the nature of my job; they generally don’t.

Sometimes when I’m in a relationship I forget about everything else, including my friends.

My job pays the bills, but doesn’t fulfill me.

I’ve got lots of good ideas - the problem is executing on them.

A negative comment from someone else can ruin my whole day.

It’s easy to schedule meetings with others. It’s hard to schedule time for myself. When I do (e.g. yoga, sports, vacations) I often sabotage the time I’ve carved out for myself by leaving the office late.

I’m too hard on myself.

I know if I had more self-confidence I would go for what I really want in life.

This isn’t where I thought I would be in my life.

When I finally take a vacation, I vow to do things differently when I get back. It never lasts.

I take my work home with me. I’m hardly ever completely disconnected from my work.

If you answered True to at least 5-10 of the above questions, then the Personal Alignment workshop series has been created for you. This life-transforming series blends psychology, philosophy, personal development and life/leadership coaching into transformational strategies that will enable you to:

  • 1 Rediscover your passion in life: the passion that emanates from your heart and informs you of your life's purpose
  • 2 Discover the one thing you can provide to the world through your career that can never be outsourced
  • 3 Identify the spheres of your life to create work/life balance
  • 4 Take care of and nurture yourself
  • 5 Unhinge your self-esteem from your performance and the good opinions of others
  • 6 Increase your tolerance for taking risks
  • 7 Re-engineer your schedule so you can spend more time on what’s most important to you rather than what’s most important to others
  • 8 Learn how to trust your heart more and get the best from your mind without letting it control you
  • 9 Win “The War on Email”
  • 10 Put off until tomorrow what you shouldn’t be doing at all
  • 11 Identify your personal vision, core beliefs and values
  • 12 Create a time-sensitive Action Plan that will propel you into action with the guiding principle “A goal is a dream with a deadline”

The Personal Alignment workshop series usually includes two 4-hour sessions, although other schedules are also possible. There is an assignment in between sessions, primarily to help you develop your personal Vision Statement and one-year Action Plan.

Workshop participants will also be expected to do readings from one of Anthony Silard’s books on alignment, which will be provided along with a special workbook only available to participants in this workshop series.
